Privacy policy

How DayKept handles your writing, diagnostics, analytics and support contact.

DayKept is a local-first personal archive. This policy explains what stays on your device, what limited signals may be measured, and what DayKept does not collect.

1. Writing and search stay on-device first

Entries, titles, journals, tags, search and attachments stay on your device unless you explicitly create a backup file, use full archive export, share something out, or contact support.

2. Diagnostics are designed not to collect archive content

Diagnostics and operational events do not include journal content, full search text, snippets from entries or attachment names.

3. Voice dictation

If you use dictation, DayKept does not store audio. Dictation uses your device speech recognition service. Once the text is inserted, DayKept stores it like any other entry in your local archive.

4. Limited operational analytics

The app may collect limited app signals such as app version, locale and general counts around search, backup, restore, export and purchase recovery.

DayKept can keep a troubleshooting log on your device. You can review recent backup, restore or billing events and choose whether to share that log with support.

5. Optional automatic backup copies on Android

If you enable Automatic backup copies on Android, DayKept saves backup files to a visible folder in your own Google Drive. These are backup files, not sync.

6. Website analytics

The public website may measure aggregate page views and CTA clicks. The website does not receive journal content from the app.

7. Support contact

If you contact support, DayKept receives the information you choose to send so the issue can be reviewed. Do not send journal content unless support explicitly asks for it.

8. Your choices

You can keep, move, export or delete your archive using the tools available on your device and in the app.

9. Policy updates

If this policy changes in a material way, the updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
